The Nigerian Bottling Company Limited (NBC), makers of Coca-Cola soft drinks has reiterated its commitment to youth development and social investment in Nigeria as it moves to the second half of the year. This was made known during a media parley last week marking the end of the first quarter of business.
Speaking at the meeting, Legal, Public Affairs and Communications Director, Nigerian Bottling Company Limited, Sade Morgan said that last year, NBC was involved in various CSR and other empowerment programmes and the company is determined to continue in the trend.
According to her ‘’ one of our key focus in CSR is youth empowerment and it’s a key pillar kicked off last year, thousands of youth have been impacted positively since last year. It’s part of plan of the company to stay relevant to the consumers’’.
Recalled last year, the company unveiled a fresh programme tagged “Youths Empowered,” aimed at harnessing the potential of the Nigerian by empowering 10,000 youths.
The company said the programme was a life-changing opportunity for Nigerian youths in the age bracket of 18 to 30, to nurture, grow and showcase their vital life, business skills through training, mentorship and access to an array of contents that would help them stand out in their chosen fields of endeavour.
The 2018 edition of the “Youths Empowered’ kicked off in Ibadan on April 24 and was rounded off on April 26 amidst excitement from youths in the city and other neigbhouring state which saw over 700 youths trained.
The Non-Alcoholic beverage giant was recently awarded the best environmental friendly company at the 2018 Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency Award for its commitment to prevent environmental pollution.
