Dufil Announces Names of Judges for 7th IIDA, Finalists’ selection for Sept. 25

As the countdown to the 2014 Indomie Independence Day Award (IIDA) for Heroes of Nigeria, draws near, Dufil Prima Foods, makers of Nigeria’s no 1 instant noodles has picked September 25 as the date for its‎ 2014 Judges Seating. This event, is a yearly initiative by the company that assembles esteemed Nigerians, carefully handpicked to assist in the picking of three finalists.
The announcement of September 25, as date for the Judges seating and names of judges is coming on the heels of the completion of search by the team of experts assigned the role of gathering deserving stories across the nation.
The seven judges who will pick the three final stories in the first, second and third categories for this year’s IIDA 7th edition are as follows: Mr. Graham Stothard – Principal Grange School, Ikeja, Lagos, Mrs. Adesuwa Onyenukwe – Publisher, Today’s Woman Magazine, Mr. Olakunle Soriyan – CEO, Olakunle Soriyan Company and Mr. Chude Jideonwo – MD, Red Media Africa. Other members of the panel include: Mr. Martins Oloja – Editor, Guardian Newspaper, Mrs. V.O. Osuntokun – Heritage Homes Orphanage, and Mrs. Olufunto Igun – Executive Director, Corona School Ikoyi.
The panel is expected to begin seating on September 25, 2014 and will brainstorm on the final 16 stories shortlisted, out of the over 200 stories after which the final most inspiring three will be picked by them.
While giving insight into the development, the Public Relations Manager, Dufil Prima Foods, Mr. Tope Asiwaju, said “IIDA is a credible initiative, hence we have carefully selected reputable and distinguished men and women from different spheres of the society, based on their reputation, vast experience and integrity in the society, to help us in picking the three finalists.”
According to him, “A total of 200 stories were received during the search exercise for the 7th edition of the IIDA from different parts of the country. Out of the total 200 stories, 16 stories have been certified worthy enough and shortlisted for the final stage and these are the stories that the judges will be deliberating on, during their assessment exercise.” He said.
Mr. Asiwaju further noted that as Dufil, we are passionate about the positive developmental growth of the Nigerian child and we would spare nothing in ensuring that all they need to turn out right and successful for the benefit of our Nation is put in place. That is why we continue to invest in them by any means possible.
The Indomie Independence Day Award (IIDA) for Heroes of Nigeria is one out of many initiatives of Dufil Prima Foods, targeted at extolling the excellent accomplishments of children who have shown extraordinary courage and determination in difficult and challenging situations.
The most inspiring three stories, picked by the judges will be made public and awarded at an elaborate award ceremony slated for October in Lagos.{fcomments}
