Stanbic IBTC Holdings has successfully renovated six classrooms and the Head Teacher’s office at Waziri Primary School in Niger State, reaffirming its commitment to improving education in Nigeria through its Adopt-A-School initiative. This effort underscores the organization’s dedication to creating better learning environments for Nigerian children.
This marks the seventh school to benefit from Stanbic IBTC’s education-focused programme. The Waziri Primary School project was officially unveiled at a ceremony graced by notable dignitaries, including Muhammad Baba Ibrahim, Chairman of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB); Hon. Aminu Ladan, the Local Government Chairman; Haj. Hadiza Shuru, representing the Niger State First Lady; and other distinguished government officials and community members. Their attendance highlighted the essential role of collaboration in advancing education infrastructure.
The renovation project included key enhancements to the school’s facilities, such as:
Renovation of two classroom blocks; Installation of 120 new classroom furniture pieces; Construction of a modern computer laboratory,
Addition of a 12-toilet modern sanitation block; Planting of 50 trees to beautify the environment; and Development of a football field for recreation and physical education.
Furthermore, Stanbic IBTC supplied essential learning materials to enrich the academic experience for both students and teachers. These improvements will directly benefit over 1,000 students and 117 teachers, providing them with a supportive environment to achieve their full potential.
Kunle Adedeji, Acting Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, highlighted the organization’s vision for sustainable growth. “The Adopt-A-School initiative is part of our mission to foster development in Nigeria. We are committed to creating spaces where children can learn and thrive,” he stated during the inauguration.
The initiative has already transformed schools in Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Sokoto, Borno, and Gombe states. By improving educational infrastructure, Stanbic IBTC continues to play a pivotal role in shaping future generations.
