MTN Nigeria Hosts Public Sector Stakeholders at Breakfast Meeting

MTN Nigeria hosted a breakfast meeting on November 12, 2024, at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, to engage with key stakeholders and public sector leaders. The event focused on exploring the potential of digital advertising through MTN’s Mobile Ads Inventory.

The event, themed “Connecting with Citizens: Harnessing Mobile Advertising for Effective Public Communication” enlightened heads of government agencies, ministry heads and leaders of Non-Profit Organizations (NGOs) on the benefits of digital advertising as well as the ways public sector operators can implement digital advertising to foster dialogue and productive communication with citizens. Attendees at the event gained valuable insights on the opportunities available with MTN Mobile Ads.

In her virtual remarks, Lynda Saint-Nwafor, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, MTN Nigeria, highlighted the ICT firm’s commitment to building a modern connected world for individuals and businesses. “At MTN, we believe that everyone deserves the benefit of a modern connected world, and this applies to public and private entities. We believe that businesses, ministries, departments and agencies can all leverage technology as a force for good, to improve productivity, engagement and drive growth”.

Also speaking virtually at the breakfast meeting, Chief Digital Officer, MTN Nigeria, A’isha Mumuni, noted the difficulties in public communication across the world today and the potential of mobile advertising to bridge the gap. “In today’s fast-paced world, staying connected with citizens has become increasingly tasking. Yet the opportunity to engage with people where they are and when they are most receptive is greater than ever”.

A’isha Mumuni emphasized the 44.4% smartphone penetration rate in Nigeria, revealing that 81.2 million Nigerians own smartphones.

“By utiliizing mobile advertising strategically, we can keep citizens informed and also engage them in dialogue to discover their needs in a particular region” she said, whilst also highlighting the advanced data analytics feature of mobile advertising, which enables communication tailored towards specific regions and audiences.

The MTN Chief Digital Officer stated that beyond the opportunities for growth and better engagement, mobile advertising is also a responsibility the public and private sector must uphold to enable accurate and effective dissemination of information to the public. “Mobile advertising is not just an opportunity, but a responsibility for the private and public sector to ensure that public service information is accessible, timely and meaningful”.

Eyitayo Amushan, Senior Manager, Digital & Advertising Campaign Management, Digital Services, MTN Nigeria shared detailed insights on MTN Mobile Ads offerings, noting the company complies with regulatory standards and requirements. “At MTN, we strive to be compliant and ensure that we are constantly in alignment with local regulations.”

Eyitayo highlighted benefits of advertising with MTN Mobile Ads, including the company’s reach of up to 79.4 million subscribers, multiple media channels, and data-free solutions.

The MTN Mobile Ads breakfast meeting with stakeholders in the public sector is a testament to the ICT firm’s efforts to enable the growth of both public and private enterprises and its commitment to national progress through bridging communication gaps.
