FPL Media has announced its strategic partnership with the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN) to showcase innovation at the association’s highly anticipated Annual General Meeting (AGM). The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, August 16, 2024, at De Signature Towers in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The partnership between FPL Media and OAAN aims to showcase some of the finest initiatives, innovations, products, and services that FPL Media offers to the advertising industry. The collaboration underscores FPL Media’s commitment to contributing to the growth and development of the Outdoor Advertising industry in Nigeria.
Speaking on the partnership, Lanre Ashaolu, Managing Director of FPL Media, highlighted the significance of the event for both FPL Media and the broader industry. “As a corporate member of OAAN, FPL Media has benefited from the association’s interventions with external stakeholders. We see this event as an opportunity to give back and contribute to the industry’s advancement,” Ashaolu stated.
He further emphasized the importance of promoting the craft and activities of the Out-of-Home (OOH) industry to the relevant public. “Our business is to connect brands to audiences through the innovative and strategic deployment of advertising content across the country. It’s crucial to raise awareness about the vibrancy, science, and methodology involved in our operations to ensure that brands recognize the value of OOH advertising,” he added.
Ashaolu also highlighted the dynamic nature of the OOH industry, noting that innovative approaches are being deployed daily, particularly in non-conventional advertising systems. He pointed out the industry’s need to challenge the traditional perception that other communication channels are more relevant during campaign planning and resource allocation. “Nigerians spend two-thirds of their day outdoors, and it’s essential to remember that traditional feeds digital,” he remarked.
The OAAN AGM, themed ”Navigating the Challenges of Outdoor Advertising in Nigeria,” will feature Lolu Akinwunmi, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Prima Garnet Africa, as the guest speaker. Akinwunmi, a veteran in the industry, is expected to provide valuable insights that will help members redefine their focus and strategies to drive further growth, ensuring they remain relevant and competitive.
OAAN President, Sola Akinsiku, emphasized the importance of the AGM, stating that the association aims to regularly review and examine the Out-of-Home media ecosystem to maintain its relevance, share common goals, and foster respect among stakeholders. He also highlighted OAAN’s significant contributions to economic growth, including providing direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The OAAN AGM expected to bring together key players in the advertising industry, offering a platform for networking, knowledge sharing, and showcasing the latest trends and innovations in OOH advertising.
