NIMN 2022 Conference/AGM to Address Business Rebirth in the New Age of Data

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria, NIMN has scheduled its 2022 Annual Marketing Conference (AMC) and Annual General Meeting (AGM) will hold between June 16 and 17, 2022 with current business realities in the new age of data, forming the fulcrum of discussion on the theme: “Driving Business Sustainability in the Age of Data and Technology”.

Addressing the media in a pre-conference session at the NIMN secretariat in Lagos, the President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Id Enang, fnimn, alongside the 2022 Conference organizing Committee, promised that the 2022 conference will be one to remember by participants – members and potential members inclusive, because of its focus on new realities and how to navigate through.

The conference which is billed for Eko Hotels & Suites will feature two sessions on the 16th. The morning session will include key activities such as keynote speeches, panel discussions, networking sessions, learning, and impact sessions while the evening session will feature the investiture of fellows, dinner, and of course networking.

Speaking on the details of the conference, Mrs. Chioma Afe, fnimn, Chairperson, 2022 Annual Marketing Conference and AGM Planning Subcommittee, who is also Group Head, Retail Marketing & Analytics, Access Bank Plc, explained that following the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath industries like telecom and other technology-based companies have pivoted, hence the choice of the theme which is meant to help members and industries to adapt to the new realities with a view to being disruptive and in a bid to attain growth.

According to her, aside from the main theme, one of the two-panel sessions will discuss: “Disruptive marketing and how organizations like 7up Bottling company, TBWA Concepts have been able to successfully weather the storm. The panel will feature Kelechi Nwosu, CEO, TBWA/Concepts; Segun Ogunleye, General Manager Marketing, Seven-up Bottling Company, Uchenna Uzo, Faculty Director, Lagos Business School among others. The first-panel session will be moderated by Mrs. Angela Makinwa, fnimn, Chairperson, Regulatory & Compliance Committee.

Similarly, the second panel is billed to consider the sub-theme “Future of Marketing”. “The second panel is on the future of marketing in the tech-driven world. What we are the fusion between marketing and technology; how marketing is evolving and how they are using this to either gain customer share in the market, acquire new customers, sustain customers and disrupt”, Afe said.

The session which will feature some innovators across industries and it will be moderated by Nsima Ogedi-Alakwe, fnimn, Chairperson, Corporate Communications and Relations Committee.

For the AGM which holds on the 17th, the highlights will include the election and investiture of the 1st vice president and the 2nd vice president. According to Sydney Ogodo, Registrar/Executive Secretary, NIMN, the voting shall be through an electronic platform and will commence a week before the AGM.

In her contribution, Mrs. Adenike Olufade, fnimn, Council member and Chairperson of Events and Conferences Committee, said the 2022 Conference/AGM is another annual marketing conference but with a difference as it will be bringing a lot of realities into the discussions.

The conference is planned to be a hybrid event attracting a fee of N25k for members and N35K non members (physical attendance) while the rate for virtual attendance is available on the registration porter.

“NiMN is positioned to bring together quality minds to speak to these issues on ‘business rebirth in the new age of data’ and offer learning to all”, Mrs. Oludafe noted, adding that this is one of the differences NIMN brings to the table.
