The Kano state based Mamuda Groups of Companies has embarked on a vigorous economic diversification drive, establishing more factories and ventures in line with the economic diversification policies of both the Kano State and Federal government.
Making this disclosure recently at a media interactive session at the on-going unveiling of Mamuda Beverages Ltd, a new addition to the group and unveiling of Nigerian Super Eagles Captain, Ahmed Musa as it’s Brand Ambassador, Mr. Hassan Hammond, Chairman, Mamuda Group of Companies explained that the group’s new diversification drive is very much in consonant with current government’s policies created to enhance the economic growth of the nation.
While underscoring the importance of diversifying the economic base of the nation, the Chairman decried the current situation.
He said, “I see it on papers that apart from petroleum (crude oil), Nigeria’s other natural resources include natural gas, tin, iron ore, coal, limestone, niobium, lead, zinc, gold, Kaolin, Syenite & Tatium and arable land. However, the oil and gas sector as been accounted as taken about 35% of her Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and its petroleum exports revenue represents over 90% of her total exports revenue.”
