Lagos, Nigeria Friday May 18, 2012. Noah’s Ark Communications Limited, one of the new generation ad agencies in Nigeria, has recorded a milestone in the annals of 80 years of Advertising in Nigeria by becoming the first in the Nigeria’s creative industry to be listed on the prestigious and world renowned Luezer’s Archive.
The Luezer’s Archive which is published 6 times in a year is a worldwide advertising archive that is globally regarded as the ‘Bible’ of advertising. It showcases the best of advertising from around the world. Out of the thousands of entries received, only 70 of the best get published in each edition of the high end publication with global circulation strength.
Briefing the media during an interactive session which held at the Agency’s office, Maryland, Lagos, the Managing Director, Noah’s Ark Advertising Limited, Mr Lanre Adisa describes the attainment as a bold statement and great achievement not only for Noah’s Ark’s team but also a triumph for Nigeria’s creative advertising industry.
For once the Adisa led agency has broken the jinx by breaking into this global advertising platform. According to Adisa, the agency took what it believes is a bold step which the industry had always shy away from. “The industry is plagued with thoughts like the clients won’t approve it, hence materials usually fall short of the standards that could go on the global platforms”
To circumvent this perceived problem, the agency decided to come up with a self promotion ad. The advert published on page 21 of the current edition of the Luezer’s Archive under the “Ad Agencies” section looks simple, snobbish and unconventional. In fact, the creative material has neither a headline nor a body copy but yet it’s full of meanings.
“The Noah’s Ark is small on the surface but one cannot fathom the depth and what it carries in the inside” seems to be over riding sales message and impression this illustration led copy leaves on the mind of the reader. Good sales pitch for the agency and it could only attract its kind!
Adisa stated that the Agency was motivated to enter the creative work for the world renowned Archive with the realisation that no Nigerian agency’s work has ever been featured in the publication in the country’s over 80 years of advertising history. “It received rave reviews, got shortlisted and was eventually published among the final 70 that made the Vol.2-2012 edition of the publication.
“We are indeed very delighted as a company and also proud to position the Nigerian Creative Advertising Industry in the league of global advertising practitioners by emerging the first Nigerian Agency to be featured in Luezer’s Archive”, says Adisa while adding that the same work has been entered for this year’s Cannes Advertising Festival.
Speaking at the parley, the Managing Director of Chini Productions and Representative of Luezer’s Archive in Nigeria, Mr Nnamdi Ndu, describes the milestone recorded by Noah’s Ark as a great achievement not only for the Agency, but also for the Nigerian advertising industry as a whole.
As an upwardly mobile agency, new businesses recently found their ways into the Agency’s kitty courtesy competitive pitches. These include Swift Network, Horlicks (GSK) and Paga.{jcomments on}
