Tunji Abioye, CEO of Fuel CommunicationsAdvertising agencies and indeed many marketing firms are becoming learning organizations. Being knowledge hawkers themselves, a few Nigerian ad agencies are increasingly investing great resources at turning their talents into becoming moving human endowments.

The TBWA\Concept’sKnowledge Session is aplatform created by the Lagos ad agency for sharing and retooling its workforce. At its April 5, 2012 edition, the Kelechi Nwosu – led agency invited no less than Tunji Abioye, CEO of Fuel Communications and former Managing Director of Rosabel Advertising Limited as its resource person.

In a one hour presentation titled ‘Talented… and So What?’, Mr Abioye challenged myths of success and enterprise.Opening with the immortal words of Erica Jong, “Everyone has talent. What is rare is the courage to follow talent to the dark place where it leads’’, Tunji Abioye elucidated on the counter-intuitive underachievement unmanaged talent confers.

Mr Abioye’s presentation was an ad mixture of stimulating anecdotes, case-studies and life experiences which lent credence in no small way to the maxim that ‘Talent is not enough’ in building lasting success in Life and Business.

The high point of Tunji Abioye’s presentation was a story he relayed on a personal encounter during his MD-ship at Rosabel  LeoBurnett as well as how his personal experiencesand bias for results in the face of staggering odds became the bedrock of Fuel Communications, the agency he later founded and currently manages.

The TBWA\Concept Knowledge Session usually features thoughts and experiences from first-rate industry eggheads and typically involves the whole agency.

The Knowledge Session came to a close with questions and answers on entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, talent, craftsmanship and the challenging Nigerian business environment.{jcomments on}
