The 2011 edition of the Creative Tai Chi Workout was staged from Thursday Novemeber 24th – Friday November 25th 2011. It attracted a cross-section of creative executives from advertising/marketing communications agencies, Brand and Marketing Managers, Strategic Planners and Film Producers, among other categories of professionals within the media and marketing communications space.
According to The Newton Project Room (TNPR), the organisers of the annual workshop Tai Chi is an ancient martial art form that helps to improve mental application through mind – body coordination, and this initiative has been put together to help participants from different sub-disciplines in the creative/marketing communication genre align their thought patterns while letting their imagination roam free.
The sessions were put together with a view to equipping participants to develop a good grasp of Strategy, Inspiration, Copy, Art and Presentation – the five main disciplines that form the foundation of the creative process.
Speakers at this year’s event, which was held at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria, included British-born Colin Morris, multiple award winning creative director and currently Executive Creative Director at Lowe Lintas Africa, Mowunmi Owodunni, versatile copywriter and Executive Creative Director at STB-McCann Erickson, one of Nigeria’s leading marketing communications agencies, Boye Adefila, one-time creative head at different leading Nigerian Agencies and currently Head Coach at the CopyCoach Academy Nigeria, Femi Odugbemi, acclaimed film producer,MD of DVWorx Studios and currently the producer of TINSEL on MNET, Tomi Ogunlesi, head of strategy at Bates Cosse, Lagos, Uzo Okoye, MD/CEO at Etu Odi Communications and Boye Longe, currently creative director at Towncriers (Cosse group) and one-time creative director at SoulComm Publicis and Verdant Zeal respectively.{jcomments on}
